*We've now arrived in Florence and had our first night here already. But this post from this morning never went through... so sending it now*
Good morning!
We are finishing up breakfast right now. Last night after we got back from Venice we relaxed a bit then headed to Lido for dinner. We found this cute restaurant... wait... Every restaurant is cute but this one was awesome. It was outside with a little canopy and an Italian guy singing and a fountain. We ate pizza for an appetizer (yes, how great is that?), Jill had ravioli, Chez had gnocchi, Mary had noodle pie and I had spaghetti bologonese. We also got a caraf of rose wine which was probably one of the best wines I ever had. We laughed and shared our food and got swindled by a vendor who came to our table and gave us roses and then asked for 2 Euro from each of us.
We must have dumb gullible American girls written on our foreheads. Good thing we laughed about it the rest of the night.
Gelato count:
5) Dolci Stella ("Sweet Star" which was bright blue in color with star sprinkles and tasted like funfetti/cotton candy)
Leaving Venice now. The routine of the morning has turned into literally stuffing our faces. Everyone else eats a bowl of cereal or one croissant. Jill, Mary, Chez and I eat 2 hard boiled eggs, Italian donuts, yogurt, fruit, meat & cheese. We tear it up!
About to board the bus to Florence. Stopping in Verona on the way! Ciao!
